Sketchbook

but I began photographing some of the pages of a couple of them.

Over the years I have kept sketch books. I did not manage to save all of them but I began photographing some of the pages of a couple of them. Some of my paintings are quite personal, you will find my sketch books often even more so. This is partly why I show me getting into water in my introduction, it is like that, it feels like that, for me showing these pieces. In no particular order.....more info

Keep Your Skin Luscious

Super Powers Potion

Super Powers Potion SPP   How SPP came to be, what is it, and why use it?  In the 90’s I lived in Manhattan, NYC. My mother lived in Burlington, ON. She sent me a little jar of ‘Under-eye Cream’ by a brand called ‘Rialto’ as a present. This was when 'Boots' took over 'Shopper’s Drugmart'. Rialto was a similar line of products like the Body Shop. Far better, Rialto only used excellent ingredients.      I found this under-eye cream to be miraculous. When I put it on under my eyes, the wrinkles popped right out. I was ferevently devoted to it. The jar was not big, less than an ounce but it lasted such a long time. I ran out. I called my mother frothing at the mouth for more. She let me know, 'No more Rialto. Boots went back to Shoppers Drugmart again'. My world stopped. This product was propping me up simply and efficiently. The fact that it was truly natural was highly appealing to me. I looked at the ingredients and decided to make it myself. Although I had not named it, Super Powers Potions yet, and not for ages, it was born. I began using it only on my under-eyes. Now I use it all over all the time. Through the years SPP evolved. Made with unrefined organic Shea butter from ethical sources. Unrefined organic coconut oil, Extra Virgin organic olive oil. The coconut oil is infused with dried lavender, chamomille, and calendual flowers; skin loving oils and flowers. It is wonderful for people with sensitve skin. It is safe for children and animals. A little goes a long way.       Recently I discovered that the last layer of our skin is fat. It is there to buffer our inner body from the outside world. This made sense as to why SPP worked so well for me and others. By feeding the skin fat, one maintains the integrity and durability of the entire thickness of skin. Look at the ingredients of the products you are now using. By and large the first ingredient is water. 1) Why spend so much money on water? and more importantly, 2) Water on the skin in the summer cooks the skin instead of nurturing it. In the winter the water in skin products turns to ice, breaking the skin apart. We see much separation and segmenting in the skin as we get older. Far too long we have been using the incorrect products on our skin. I would rather say “Faturize” than “Moisturize”. Faturizing our skin is a better solution than moisturizing. Faturized skin in the winter or summer maintains the health and coherence of our biggest organ, our glorious skin. Continuing to read the ingredients list, notice harmful chemicals, products like petroleum. Some of the common ingredients in beauty products which are petrochemical-derived include: Parafin wax, Mineral oil, Toluene, Benzene, Anything with PEG (polyethylene glycol), Anything with DEA (diethanolamine) or MEA (ethanolamine), Butanol and any word with butyl: butyl alcohol, butylparaben, butylene glycol, EDTA (ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid), Any word with propyl—isopropyl alcohol, propylene glycol, propyl alcohol, cocamidopropyl betaine, Parfum or fragrance—95 percent of chemicals used in fragrance are from petroleum. This one word may contain many, many chemicals that are not required to be listed on the label, and are endocrine disrupters. Petroleum is not for the skin. It breaks down the immune system. It costs more to throw it away than to sell it. This is why it is omnipresent and awareness of the dangers of petroleum jelly etc are denied and overriden in favour of sales/corporate greed. We are fixing this now. We may help our skin remain supple far longer than we have so far. Looking to cultures where their skin does not crack, they have been cultivating and using products with ingredients like these for centuries now. Please keep out of the heat. If it liquifies it is still fully functional, be extra careful not to spill. It may crystalize once it cools, it is still perfectly fine in any of these forms. You may like to add a few drops of skin friendly essential oil to boost the smell if you care to experiment. Lemon Balm, more lavender. Jasmine, Frankensense the options are endless of skin friendly heavenly scents. Use it absolutely everywhere on your body. It will quickly absorb in the skin I have heard back wonderful stories from others, how well Super Powers Potion functions for them, continues to pay-off for them. I hope you love it too. Thank you to my mother. Along with many wonderful gifts, memories, and lessons I have recieved from my mother I am grateful for the heritage of Super Powers Potion.   ...more info
